You’ll Watch the Watchmen Over and Over

This was one of those films that I never really has any intention on seeing. It just happened that all of my friends were going and asked me to join so I looked at it as a night out of the home and away from the kids! Now, I am so glad I did and I anxiously await the release of the DVD later this month, in fact I have already pre-ordered it.

The Watchmen is based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. It takes place during an alternate 1895, where the Cold War is still present and Richard Nixon still holds the Presidential office. This is a film that no only has action but an intense and well developed plot on many levels.

This is more then just comic book characters on the big screen, it is comic characters mixed with amazing visual effects and action that will keep you on the edge of your seat. One of the most enjoyable aspects of the film was that it was geared towards adult audiences, unlike most movies that are adapted from comic books.

Now the final features of the DVD information have not been released, however it is said to have a lot of extras and bonuses which will total up to two hours of extras. Not to mention the fact that there is rumor of an ultimate edition to follow which may even show different versions of this movie, which would just be incredible if they were to do that.

Now this DVD is already scheduled for release in the US on July 27, 2009, but the good news is that you can pre-order it, even the Blu-ray edition, which means that you will have it sent to you as soon as they are out. Doing this insures that you wont have to risk heading to the store to get it only to find that they are out of stock. This is a great action flick and one you should definitely see, or see again.

Their Funny, Their Songs Are Catchy, Their New Season Is On DVD – Flight Of the Conchords Season 2

If you have seen this series then there is no need to say anything further, except Season 2 of the Flight of the Conchords will be out on DVD on August 4th, so be sure to reserve your copy today. As for those who have yet to have the pleasure of his incredible show, then let me tell you a little about Flight of the Conchords, because surely if you watch it once, you will want to see it again and again.

Flight of the Conchords is a show that follows the trials and tribulations of a two man digi-folk band, Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, from New Zealand. The two try to make their way to fame in New York City, and it is beyond hysterical watching them try.

Now, although I thoroughly enjoyed the first season and laughed hysterically at all the songs, I sometimes felt that they were far from the plot and just thrown into the story. This was not the case with the second season of the show, making it a smoother and more enjoyable viewing experience, for me anyway. The songs in season 2 were written specifically for the story lines and fit well with the plots for each show.

Flight of the Conchords is an HBO favourite and has received excellent ratings, thanks to its subtle humor and improve. The DVD release date was scheduled, by HBO, even prior to the season two premiere of the show being aired, so many have already ordered their copy before they even show the first show of the season.

When you purchase this season on DVD, you will not only be able to watch your favorite episodes over and over again, but you will also have access to more then 60 minuted worth of extras. Included on the DVD is 23 minutes of deleted scenes, 8 minutes of outtakes, a few Dave’s pawn Shop commercials and a 30 minutes bonus; Flight of the Conchords, Taking Off. That alone makes it worth your money!
